In the past, after lunch, I frequently used to have a "double humped" blood glucose response (a typical one is shown in the figure below). When this (i.e., the double humped response) happened, the two hour reading often would be higher than the one hour reading. I was fine with the readings because the BG never went up to unhealthy or abnormal levels and the peak reading mostly stayed below 7.5 mmol/L (135 mg/dL). Nowadays it happens very less frequently probably because I lost some tummy fat which might have improved the functioning of the organs within the tummy resulting in improved digestion and [https://unchanging.tech/index.php/User:Annis46K0661145 GlycoCares Health Guideglucose metabolism] faster assimilation of [http://www.zhongying.club/marlasaldivar3/glyco-care-blood-sugar-support9389/wiki/Can-Hypothyroidism-Cause-High-Blood-Sugar%3F Glyco Care glucose support].

Mood:must go to bed. Left Masterton around 11.30am as we had heard there were roadworks just south of the Twin Bridges at the bottom of the Rimutaka Hill Road, however there was hardly any delay there at all. The new road on the Kaitokes is progressing well. There doesn't look to be much to go now and I would say we will shortly be driving the cutting in the hill. During Robyn's daily radiation trips, we watched the hill be "downsized". Arrived at the Wellington Cancer Society carpark in good time. We were surprised to see the new building development at Wellington Hospital - across the road from where we parked. It is still in the tear down stage and the rooms we used to visit are now being torn down. After getting a chest x-ray done, we had our first visit to the recently opened Cancer Outpatient Department. That has been the first part of the new hospital to be built and the rest of the new hospital will be built around it.

Robyn saw Dr Douglas Iupati. He said that Robyn's chest X-Ray looked good. Once again he did not have Robyn's blood results. She had those done last week at Masterton Hospital. We are not sure which hospital is at fault. Might need to check that one out. He had to ring for them and said that they looked fine. Robyn's legs are still itching and she is scratching them until they bleed. She has a few on her arms too. Robyn said that it is most irritating at night. Her legs get hot, then they itch. Douglas said it was unusual but none of us feel it is related to any cancer activity. However, to rule out that possibility, he has ordered Robyn a CT scan (chest and abdomen) to be done by the end of the month. He also mentioned that it might be wise to repeat the bone marrow test. I think Robyn is OK about having the CT scan (it is a year since she had one), but I don't believe she will go through another bone marrow test at this stage.

Robyn is going to try and tackle the itchiness with some creme she has been prescribed by her GP and also use some medicine that must act like an antihistamine. She also will catch up with her GP next week. So that's where things are at the moment. Comments: Read 3 orAdd Your Own. Robyn and I are heading down to Wellington on Tuesday 8 November after lunch. She has a chest x-ray and regular 3 monthly check up. She got her bloods done last week. I bet when we ask for the blood results that they will have to go searching and even ring through to Masterton ! They never seem to make it into her patient chart. I believe that Robyn's only concern at this stage is her weight, which has increased. We are both looking forward to seeing what progress has been made with the Kaitoke roadworks.

A section of State Highway 2 on the northern side of Rimutake Hill Road will be down to one lane from Tuesday 7 November until 16 December. Work is being done to stabilise a steep bank close to the highway. As far as [https://www.ft.com/search?q=radiation%20dose radiation dose] goes, she did not need to get the maximum dosage as the cancer cells in the lymph nodes respond well to low doses. I was told that melanoma patients need a maximum dose in their treatment as it takes that much for the cells to react. Didn't I say it was technical ? I found it actually quite interesting. During the set up, the room lights were put out so the red laser lights could be lined up with Robyn's marks. During the radiation, the lights were on and Robyn had contact with staff via an intercom into the office. Robyn said that she had to lie very still and consequently had a 'serious' facial expression most times !

The problem with sugar isn’t that we’re eating it full stop - it’s that, for a lot of us, we’re eating way too much. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that foods high in sugar tend to be less nutrient-dense than those that aren’t. So if your ‘cup of tea at 3pm’ habit has become a ‘cup of tea and a [https://twitter.com/search?q=chocolate%20biscuit chocolate biscuit] - or three’ and your day-to-day diet is mainly made up of sugary foods (and little fibre-rich fruit and veg), it might be time to reassess your diet. And, perhaps, quit sugar altogether. First up, how much sugar should we be eating? What happens if you eat too much sugar? Wait, so is ‘natural’ sugar better? How long does it take to detox from sugar? What happens if I stop [https://hararonline.com/?s=eating%20sugar eating sugar] for a month? What happens if you quit sugar? What can you eat if you quit sugar?

First up, how much sugar should we be eating? Adults should have no more than 30g of sugar a day (roughly equivalent to 7 sugar cubes). Children aged 7 to 10 should have no more than 24g of sugar a day (6 sugar cubes). Children aged 4 to 6 should have no more than 19g of sugar a day (5 sugar cubes). For context, a can of cola has around 9 cubes of sugar. What happens if you eat too much sugar? When you eat sugar, most of it gets absorbed into your small intestine before it reaches your gut microbiome in your large intestine. However, if you eat too much sugar, there’s a chance it can overflow into your large intestine and encourage ‘bad’ bacteria to thrive. Now, this isn’t a huge problem if you only indulge occasionally, but, if your diet mainly consists of sugary foods then you could get up with a very unhappy gut microbiome.

Quick recap: Your microbiome is made up of 100 trillion microbes including bacteria and viruses. What you eat directly influences your microbiome - and your microbiome is crucial for your health and how your brain and body work. It’s fair to say that over the years sugar has earned itself a bit of a bad rap. Often associated with weight gain and illness, it has been the target of many a fad diet dressed as a health intervention. In reality, though, context is key when it comes to sugar intake - same as with all nutrients. It’s true that, when eaten in excess, sugar can be detrimental to your health. But, eaten in moderation, there’s no cause for concern. Sugar is a carbohydrate - one of the three macronutrients and essential for, well, [https://prewarmotoring.org/index.php?title=User:OuidaKantor GlycoCares Wellness Guidecinnamon glucose support] life. There are four main types of sugar - [http://www.tangjia7.com:8901/charityoflynn1 GlycoCares Wellness Guidecinnamon glucose support], fructose, lactose, and sucrose. Sucrose is the type of sugar that makes cakes and sweet drinks delish and is the one most often associated with negative side effects.

While fructose is a naturally occurring sugar found in fruits, and lactose is a naturally occurring sugar found in dairy products. Foods high in glucose include honey, agave and fruit juices. What’s the difference between the four main types of sugar? Simply, the nutritional profile of the foods each type of sugar is found in. Sucrose is often referred to as empty calories because it’s added to foods and drinks for flavour but has very little to offer in terms of nutritional benefits. The other three types of sugar are naturally occurring in fruits, vegetables, bread, pasta, milk (you get the idea) - all produce that contains a variety of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Wait, so is ‘natural’ sugar better? You’ll probably have heard that honey, agave syrup and coconut sugar are ‘better’ for you than just plain old table sugar. But - news flash - they’re all pretty much the same thing, with very little nutritional difference. So even if they contain some added vitamins, that alone is not going to make a significant difference to your health.

Basically, eating too much of any type of sugar over a prolonged period can wreak all sorts of havoc on your organs and can, (no, your parents weren’t lying) rot your teeth. But, and listen close: there’s nothing at all wrong with eating sugar as part of a nutritious and balanced diet. Every food you eat doesn’t have to be nutrient-dense. In fact, cutting out all sugary foods is more likely to lead to overeating, guilt and feeling pretty darn miserable. BUT, If you’re still keen to quit sugar or reduce your sugar intake, read on for 17 top tips from nutritionists to help you on your way. As always, though, be sure to consult your healthcare provider before making any changes to your diet - particularly if you’re pregnant, on medication, or have a history of, or are at risk of, disordered eating patterns. How long does it take to detox from sugar? Before we continue we have to clear something up - it's not, scientifically speaking, possible to detox from sugar.
