It is not definitively established whether this was chassis 0231.325. ---- === Other period competition === After Natali, the car was sold to Conte Anselmo Anselmi of Arcevia (Ancona) and re-registered “2285 AN”. Anselmi is believed to have competed with the car in the Tolentino–Colle di Paterno hill climb on 20 July 1930, finishing 1st in the 1500cc sports car class. The car was recorded as resident in Italy in 1937. ---- == Libyan history == The car was subsequently exported to Tripoli by an English officer, Arthur Webb. Circa 1969–1970 it was purchased by sports car dealer John Delamater, who immediately traded it to Luigi Chinetti in exchange for a new Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (Daytona). The transaction is described in Brock Yates’ book ''Cannonball'', which recounts Chinetti’s decisive agreement to the trade. In 1978 Chinetti sold the Alfa to dealer Dan Marguiles in the United Kingdom. ---- == Later ownership == Subsequent owners included: * Mr Bayliss (United Kingdom), who participated in several Mille Miglia Retrospectives * Sold via broker Martin Chisholm (2004) * Current Italian owner ---- == Modern competition history == The car has competed in: * Mille Miglia Retrospective – 2005 * Mille Miglia Retrospective – 2006 * Mille Miglia Retrospective – 2007 (car number 33) * Mille Miglia Retrospective – 2008 ---- == Restoration == While in current Italian ownership, the car has been maintained by specialist Galassi and has undergone a comprehensive mechanical rebuild in recent years. ---- == Historical significance == Chassis 0231.325 is: * A documented period Mille Miglia participant (1928 and 1929) * A supercharged Mille Miglia Speciale * A chassis with continuous international history (Italy, Libya, USA, UK, Italy) * One of very few surviving MMS examples Of the original production run, only a small number of MMS variants are believed to survive, with even fewer retaining supercharged configuration. ---- == Registry classification == * Mille Miglia Speciale * Supercharged example * Documented period Mille Miglia history * International provenance * Actively campaigned in historic events ---- == Chassis registry reference == See: [[Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 MMS/Chassis Registry]]
